Faith Lutheran Church in Burnaby had it's last service on November 28, 2011. They have voted to disband. We are sad to see them go, and we pray for the members as they explore new paths.

Rev. Dr. Eddie Kwok has accepted the call to serve as co-pastor of Vancouver Chinese Lutheran Church, Burnaby, beginning April 16th.

Rev. Vida Jaugelis announced her resignation as pastor (half-time position) of Oakridge Lutheran Church, Vancouver, with her ministry there concluding on June 5th. Vida has accepted a full-time chaplaincy position with Fraser Health, where her ministry will be spread over three facilities.

The people of St. John's Lutheran Church, Oliver, voted to dissolve the congregation. For the time being the property will be retained under the auspices of trustees appointed by Synod
Council. An informal ministry to and among the remaining people of the congregation will continue with the occasional assistance of local clergy on a supply basis.

We congratulate the Rev. Lyle McKenzie on his appointment to the position of Assistant to the National Bishop for Worship. Rev. McKenzie assumes this role in a part-time
capacity while maintaining his current call as pastor at Lutheran Church of the Cross, Victoria, BC. Within the Worship portfolio, Rev. McKenzie will have responsibilities related to the Program
Committee for Worship, the National Worship Conference, and Worship at National Convention along with liaison responsibilities with worship expressions of the ELCA, ACC, and Augsburg
Fortress. Rev. McKenzie began his new responsibilities January 15, 2010.
